The town of Wyndmoor, was originally called "Tedyuscung", is the subject of many Native American legends. It is believed the original Native American name did not translate to the English language and it was renamed "Windmoor", referencing the winds blowing through the valleys and over the rolling hills. It was the site of Whitemarsh Hall, the 300-acre estate of banking executive Edward T. Stotesbury. Whitemarsh Hall was demolished in 1980, but small pieces of it are preserved in the neighborhoods of Wyndmoor.
During the Revolutionary war There were many taverns and Inns that sprung up (none that could be traced to the location). Very close to the address is the Wyndmoor Hose Company formed in 1906, which is still in use today.
We were able to find out that there were 3 previous owners. We were only able to find the name of 1 previous owner. We were not able to confirm any deaths, fires or renovation at that address.
